The graphic identity, signage, and programming for the Teopanzolco Cultural Center were designed in Cuernavaca, Morelos. The center is located in the heart of the city and is considered the second most important ceremonial site in Mexico situated within an urban area.
A simple and cohesive graphic system was developed, inspired by the architecture of Isaac Broid + Productora, in which a pyramid-like structure is traversed by a horizontal triangle. Beneath it are an auditorium, rehearsal rooms, a black box theater, offices, and open-air performance areas — all integrated seamlessly within the multi-award-winning architectural design.
The signage and graphics, produced in black and white and made from electro-painted steel, were conceived to harmonize with the wooden interiors and the sepia-toned concrete, specially crafted to give the building its unique color.
A custom iconography was created for each area within the complex, based on its physical location on the site plan and derived from the main logo.
