Swissted is an ongoing project by graphic designer Mike Joyce, owner of stereotype design in new york city. drawing from his love of punk rock and swiss modernism, two movements that have absolutely nothing to do with one another, mike has redesigned vintage punk, hardcore, and indie rock show flyers into international typographic style posters. each poster is sized to the standard swiss kiosk dimensions of 35.5 inches wide by 50 inches high and set in Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk medium, all lowercase. every single one of these shows actually happened.

Handpainted Type is a project that is dedicated to preserving the typographic practice of street painters around India. These painters, with the advent of local DTP (Desktop Publishers) shops, are rapidly going out of business with many businesses and shops switching to the quicker, cheaper but uglier vinyls. Many painters have given up their practice altogether.

The project involves documenting the typefaces of road side painters across India, digitizing it and archiving it for future generations.

Dvein’s creative approach:
“When we were invited to make the F5 titles, we wanted them match the eclectic spirit of the conference. The idea was to get the soul of the speakers into the titles in some way.

“We asked each speaker to name five objects that inspire them or has something to do with their work. We received all kinds of answers—really interesting objects that gave us a great starting point: wind turbines, microscopes, lights, smoke, lamb rib cage, French bulldog…

“The speakers didn’t know what their answers would be used for, but they were the seed for our story. In this way, all the speakers added their bit. There is not a unique authorship but rather a multiple collaboration.”

Presentamos algunas cosas de nuestra primera línea de productos diseñados por el colectivo y contaremos con algunos productos y diseños de diseñadores como Cítrico Gráfico, Doctor Alderete, Ariel Rojo, Alejandro Magallanes, Gonzalo Rocha, Ediciones Acapulco, Ostyrocket, Jacal, Clotilde, Trópico mobiliario, entre otros. También contaremos con la presencia de El nicho experimental con varios CD’s y viniles de gran calidad a la venta. Los queremos invitar a que conozcan este nuevo proyecto y esperamos que se lleven varias cosas. Agradecemos el apoyo de la revista 192.
